Economics and Fall

For me one of the most beautiful things of the fall is watching the leaves turn into radiant autumn colors and then seeing them gracefully drift to the floor.
This morning I ran my fingers through a yellowing vine and the leaves gave way easefully and effortlessly. I was surprised and smiled when I realized this had a lot to do with economics. If we take economics to be "the management of the household" we recognize that all households need their fall and spring cleaning. As each season approaches, the prior one dies.
As we pass into fall, may we remember that it is a time of letting go of what no longer serves us. All structures expire in life. May we be wise enough to discern what has reached its end so that new life can be born. Fall is a time of grieving so that new seeds can be planted, much in the same way that in the cycle of economics recession precedes growth.
This fall make a list of what you want to let go off. Take a moment of "recess" from your daily life to contemplate what may have served you but no longer does. Find a way to give these things back to nature, with reverence and honor, letting nature re-use and re-cycle the essence of life. Make room in your home....
Happy fall from all of us at Inner Economics! Blessings...
